We are an organization of mothers, fathers, family members and friends who have loved ones currently serving or that have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America.  The Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of Blue Star Mothers has a three-fold mission.

     >  Support our Children
     >  Support Veterans in our communities
     >  Support each other

Chartered in September 2006 our Chapter has rapidly grown to close to 50 members and associate members. The
Chapter has engaged with local Veterans and civic organizations to work with them in supporting our service men and women.

Changes to November and December Meeting Schedule

There will be no November meeting and our December meeting date and time has been changed to
Sunday December 6th from 4:00-6:00PM at the Sheraton Braintree

Dr. Jaine Darwin from Stategic Outreach to Families of All Reservists (SOFAR)  will be our guest speaker at the December 6th meeting.
SOFAR coordinates the delivery of counseling and support services to families by licensed professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, psychopharmacologists, psychiatric nurses, and social workers. These volunteers lead family support sessions, provide individual counseling services, and refer family members to other licensed professionals outside the SOFAR network if additional assistance is required.

SOFAR volunteer clinicians are available to provide individual and family therapy and lead support groups targeted for families, mothers and parents while maintaining strict confidentiality. Support groups focus on such topics as stress management, anger management and general coping skills.

Visit SOFAR's website to learn more.
Holiday Care Packages for Veterans
Please gather any personal care products you are able to collect to be used for the holiday personal care packages we will be assembling for the patients at the VAs in West Roxbury and Brockton. Toothpaste, toothbrushes, sugar-free candies, pens, playing cards. etc. We will also need quart-sized ziploc bags and holiday ribbon and holiday cards.
