Members of the Eastern MA Chapter of Blue Star Mothers have done the following:
  • Hosted New Years Party for Veterans at the Brockton VA
  • Donated $800 to several Veterans in need of financial assistance
  • Adopted a military family of 6 for Christmas
  • Knitted 20 plus Prayer/Comfort Shawls to MMHF for Gold Star Families
  • Staffed information table and collected care package donations at the Independence Mall in Kingston
  • Volunteered at the MMHF 9/11 Day of Service held at the Rose Kennedy Greenway (1022 Carepackages shipped)
  • Attended the BSMA National Convention held in Washington DC- August 2011
  • Supported the Jamaica Plain Post Office renaming and dedication ceremony for LCPL Alex Arredondo
  • Shipped hundreds of Care Packages to deployed military in 2011
  • Made Mothers and Fathers Day cards and shipped to deployed Military-April 2011
  • Placed Flags on Veterans graves at Bourne National Cemetery for Memorial and Veterans Day
  • Prepared meals for Fisher House West Roxbury- 2009, 2010 and 2011
  • Wreaths Across America - Chapter attended ceremony at Bourne National Cemetary and helped placed wreaths 2010 and 2011
  • Partnered with Operation Santa to sew, fill and ship aproximately 200 (2009), 375 (2010), 400(2011) holiday stockings
  • Knit Prayer Shawls for Gold Star Families
  • Hosted HFOT fundraiser at the Barker Tavern, Scituate MA ~July 2010
  • Volunteered for CarePack event on Sept 11, 2010
  • Spoke to National Guard FRG in Reading, MA
  • Volunteer for the USO
  • Supported Mass Military Hero's Fund "Day of Service" on Sept 11, 2010
  • Delivered personal care packs to patients at the West Roxbury and Brockton VA Hospital Campuses
  • Visited Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC
  • Donated items to the Mologne House “take it” table @ Walter Reed
  • Offered support and encouragement to our Gold Star Sisters and their families
  • Attend memorial services for fallen service members
  • Attended National Guard Unit Homecoming celebrations to Welcome Home the troops
  • Attended the groundbreaking ceremonies for Homes For Our Troops
  • Mailed more than 280 care packages to deployed Massachusetts troops
  • Benefited from Raytheon Corporation’s care package donations
  • Sent letters & cards of support to deployed troops and hospitalized veterans
  • Made handmade Mother’s Day cards for troops to send home
  • Been guest speakers at VFW and American Legion Post meetings
  • Participated in the 2007 V-8 Veterans Summit in Hingham
  • Supported the Veterans Feeding Veterans Dinner sponsored by Satuit Legion Post 144
  • Helped to facilitate the Cards for the Troops Campaign during the Scituate Harbor Holiday Stroll
  • Marched in local parades on Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day
  • Named a NEADS service puppy “Blue”
  • Attended the 2007 NEADS Service Dog Graduations in March, June, and October
  • Held a “Buy a Bone Campaign” to sponsor a NEADS Canines for Combat Veterans service dog
  • Become Weekend Puppy Raisers for the NEADS Prison Pup Program
  • Met Jay Koppelman, author of From Baghdad With Love
  • Assisted with the production of Terry Steele’s “Home for Christmas” single, released in 2007
  • Volunteered in support of the Abington Patriotic Concert
  • Volunteered in support of the Jeff Coombs Memorial Road Race
  • Attended “The Moving Wall” ceremonies in Abington
  • Spoke at National Guard Leadership Trainings and FRG Meetings
  • Met with Pearl Harbor survivor, 2LT Bill Cope US Army, Ret. at the Arizona Memorial
  • Benefited from the “Refugees” concert at the Zion Church in Plymouth, MA
  • Held a holiday gathering at Luciano’s at Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA with Raffle proceeds being used to pay for care package postage
  • Staffed informational Vendor tables at local malls and at the Troops’ Families Holiday Gathering at Gillette Stadium sponsored by the Jeffrey Coombs Memorial Foundation
